There’s nothing worse than belting out your favorite song along with the CD to then hear it skip. Or how about watching an intense movie and right in the middle of the best part it freezes? Then there’s the infamous video game dilemma- you finally reach the last level and you’re forced to reboot. These tech annoyances can virtually disappear, though, with the up and coming SkipAway.

Created by Venmill, the lightweight disk repair system “uses OptoClear's™ process to repair and clean any disk with NO wax filling and no abrasive sanding,” according to the product’s site. This means no more wasted disks and no more skipping! Much cheaper than its brother repair system, VMI 3500 Buffer, SkipAway costs US$250.

The VMI 3500, although pricey, is even more impressive. This US$2299 creation, explained by Tom Samiljan of Yahoo Tech, “essentially heats up a DVD's plastic coating until it's flexible, then smoothes it out.” The user-friendly device gently buffs out everything from scratches to fingerprints to deliver the clearest and cleanest in disk entertainment.
