| Chez
and Tracy Ochoa have been happily
married for 10 years. They live downtown
in a sick loft, both enjoy the comfort
of a job they absolutely love, and
the best part is that they work together.
They are a dynamic 21st century couple
at the helm of an interactive media
company — one that has grown
into one of the most buzzed-about
businesses of its kind in San Diego.
Appeal Media is
fully equipped with Web site design, flash
design, database development, online storefronts,
Internet marketing, pay-per-click advertising,
search engine optimization and even custom
composed music. “I
was in a local band called Silhouette during
the ‘90s, and we toured across the
nation,” says Chez. “I write
the music for many of our Web sites because
we want an original layout specifically
tailored for that client.”
Appeal
has become touted as a progressive design
studio. Its 14-person staff is young, innovative
and vibrant; some are professionally trained,
while others are just naturally gifted,
and many employees also double as artists
or musicians.
The company is becoming widely
recognized as one of the top Web design
firms on the West Coast, having been awarded
numerous distinctions including a Web Award,
two Davey Awards and a prestigious Webby
for its Elder Help of San Diego Web site.
Even computer-related companies like Adobe
visited the Ochoas for development of the
latest Dreamweaver series.
“Our designs
are specifically crafted for each client,” Chez
says. “We
never use templates, and we’re constantly
finding ways to make our Web sites more
efficient and attractive. All of our designs
are clean, sharp and modern.” Unlike
many Web designers who simply build a site
and collect checks for routine maintenance,
Appeal Media focuses on staying fresh, relevant
and timely. The Web sites are frequently
upgraded and polished to ensure quality.
To
have a comprehensive online presence, the
Ochoas realized they needed an Internet
marketing campaign to entice new business.
Appeal offers print advertising, press releases,
collateral materials, logo creation, tradeshow
displays and billboards. The goal is to
follow up a Web site launch by attracting
online traffic and media coverage. The couple
believes the key to cultivating a successful
Web site is persistent promotion to stir
up a buzz.
Research shows that more than
85 percent of Web users use search engines
to find relevant content.Appeal’s
Internet marketing services are designed
to not only attract new visitors but to
convert them to clients. Appeal Media has
helped outfits ranging from consumer products
and services companies to restaurants, real
estate brokers and auto retailers. They
realize the importance in corporate branding,
even for the smallest of businesses.
“In
30 years in the restaurant industry, only
one company stands out for truly being able
to capture the essence of my concepts,” says
client Michael McGeath, owner of Trattoria
Acqua restaurant. “Appeal was able
to digest a multitude of information and
somehow make it into an incredible Web site … I
look forward to an ongoing relationship
as our restaurants evolve and their creative
genius keeps our sites on pace with that
evolution.”
